You may or may not get the eye relief you want with rings. The Warnes are great though, especially if you don't plan on removing the optic. However for QD a one piece mount will likely have better return to zero. Larue, AMD and Bobro are all more robust then the Warne QD rings, when it comes to rail attachment.
I went with the Bobro because it is self adjusting and will not need any adjustment to change from one rifle to another and back. Every other mount and or rings will require you to readjust them when changing from one gun to another.
Thank You, that makes a lot of sense.
I was concerned about getting the scope lower and staying within budget at the time I bought it and went with the Warme QD rings.
You are correct, I do have to fire about 3 rounds to confirm or return to zero with them.
I may go this route later though.
Again,
Thanks.
I went with the Brobo so I could swap the optic from gun to gun without having to readjust the mount. With the Brobo I can take the scope off of my 5.56 carbine, put it on my .22 and make the sight corrections needed, put it back on the 5.56 and take the scope back to that zero. So on and so forth with any other upper I want to slap it on. As long as your scope has repeatable settings you can use it on multiple guns. You just have to keep track of your adjustments from the original zero.
With the AMD or Larue I would likely have to adjust the mount when swapping from rail to rail. Which would likely cause loss of zero. Not to mention be a pain in the but.
Personally I can't afford to buy an extra $600 scope to make my .22 have the same optics as my 5.56. I also don't want to waste ammo re-zeroing the scope every time I swap it to another gun. The extra $30 for the Bobro over the ADM was very affordable compared to buying another Leupold with the same reticule for a .22, heck the price difference wouldn't justify the cost of re-zeroing after swapping guns more than once or twice.
You have to do an initial zero to know the settings for each rifle. But once you have those down you can use the same scope mount on multiple guns with no need to fire a shot to re-zero the scope. Simply dial in for the gun you have it mounted on. Obviously this will not work on a scope that doesn't have repeatable adjustments.
With other mounts this probably would not work as the mount would have to be adjusted from rail to rail, with the Bobro it will work because it is self adjusting.
