    P61L

I don't know if this is old news or not. The 200 lumen P61L is slated for release around the 3rd qtr.

The P60L is ok with plastic head, the P61L will need the metal one. Battery life is supposed to be 4-5 hours

As stated by the SureFire rep, you will need the metal head with the P61L. It will be to much heat on the plastic one.

The P60L was tested with a fresh set of batteries, left on until the batteries went out, the plastic bezel was fine.

It's funny how the 951 is now considered old tech. Anyone find a link for these as i was about to buy some malkovs myself. I would like the slightly longer run time of these.

Very nice, I am waiting for Malkoff to make some more P60s then I am all over one of these. Until that time however I am "playing" around with a Cree drop-in in one of my G2s (not used for serious purposes). The amount of light, beam pattern, spill, and throw from the new Cree LEDs is very impressive.

I'm just going off what he told me, I don't know if it's on the site yet. I picked up a new G2L, it has the metal head. Then I retro'ed a couple others with the led bulbs that I found.

I have been running some CREE 250lumens conversion lamp in my Scout with the 6P head. the lmp has been very stable and so far been durable.

I also converted all my 6P and 9P over ntothe CREE lamp.

Once the SF P61 comes out, i will convert to those lamp since it is factory conversion that would give me more peace of mind.
