I have torn apart 416 and MR556 uppers. That is NOT a 416. The clue (if nothing else) is that the HK does not have a regulator like that.
On top of this, in order to install a POF rail, you would need to remove the HK piston system, then the HK barrel nut. Then install the POF barrel nut, HK piston and POF Rail. Why anyone would go with a POF rail is beyond me (especially when Geissele make an awesome rail for the 416). I am not not sure that you could get a POF rail to work with a 416 piston system. This is a HUGE PITA and highly doubt someone went to all this trouble.
As a gun builder I have dealt with LOTS of trigger pullers. They are typically not gun guys. Meaning that they don't know one gun from another. I sure the instructor in the Video just made an honest mistake (read NO DING on his character).
As someone trying to grow their YT page, you have to do your research and know what you are talking about BEFORE posting it up for the world to see. Do NOT take people for their word. Know what you are looking at so you can spot a fake or half truth.

Assuming you are NOT trying to attack the character's instructor, your comments are well put. And he is a man of his word, so do not even remotely go there, assuming again, you were not.
I'd say this. He was permitted to bring back with him when he left his previous career: the upper on his HK416 and ... he has had it significantly worked on, per your remarks. It may well be, in fact, you've pretty much convinced me now that in fact he did do a lot of parts swapping, etc. to get it to function well and fully again and recently got it back up and running in select fire mode.
So, if you want to blame anyone, blame me for not fully appreciating/understanding the extent of his "bastardization" remark when it comes to his description of the rifle.
Other than that, I'm not going to respond any more to the pickers of nits. Points have been made, nits will be picked ad naseum ad infinitum forever and ever, amen.
If anyone ever wants to stop by the training facility, he'll gladly strip down the rifle and you can satisfy every possible curiosity you may have.
Maybe in 7.62...5.56 is more like "pop, pop, pop"Isn't "pew, pew, pew" more what it sounds like with a suppressor and "bang, bang, bang" is what it sounds like without a suppressor?
All I know for sure is an M1 Garand is "blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, ping!"![]()

From my limited experience shooting full auto ARs- I did not notice any kind of trigger slap but that could be I was so excited to be shooting with a happy switch that I wouldn't have noticed it if an anvil had fallen on me from the sky.
I started shooting the rifle semi-auto first to get a feel for the trigger. It was an SBR Colt that a SWAT office borrowed from his agency. It was full auto, not burst. I could keep two or three round bursts on a steel 55 gallon drum at about 25 yards. Beyond that, this li'l wolf pup needs more training. I also found out my 60 round Surefire mags is one of the good ones.
It only took a couple of tries to keep the bursts down to three shots. My biggest problem wasn't bursts going too long, but too short! I would just think in my head "Brrrp!" as I broke the sear to time the bursts. It's also possible I was slapping the trigger like a red headed step child.
I shot my own semi-auto 16" carbine in comparison and found that while the rate of fire was slightly slower, my hit ratio was better. The Battlecomp kept the muzzle flatter. I think part of the reason I shot better is that I'm more familiar with my rifle. One thing I noted about the Colt was that even in full auto, the brass landed in a small pile. The brass from my carbine was quite a bit more scattered

Thats cool you got to empty some mags like that. Auto is pretty fun if nothing else.![]()
Trigger slap is a function of the kinematics of the disconnector. I have two LMT two stage triggers that slap and I have others that do not slap. I am pretty sure this also applies to select fire mechanisms.
To be quite frank. This thread should be closed. Grant offered sage advice and others here with experience pointed out that what you described as a heavily modified 416 is in fact not. Even if the upper was, after all the mods it no longer is. As Grant mentioned, if you are going to post stuff for the entire world to see on YouTube you need to make sure that you have your facts straight. No one is "nitpicky", the weapon was nowhere near what it was described to be. Its like confusing a Glock with an XD.
