Jeeze I just thought it was of interest that our culture of fine firearms manufactures is hitting mainstream in cinema.

It's a cool thread for sure, but I can empathize with the general discussion. That would allow things other than ARs to be relevant.

    Thanks Jav for posting this.

Incredibles 1 (even listed Noveske logo on blu-ray box)
    Incredibles 2
    Avengers
Dredd (at least one guy had the flaming pig)
    Honest mistake, right? Haha

No, it isn't. In fact, it's going in the right direction.

I think Noveske makes some damn fine stuff. Got a decent amount of it myself.

    But....

Other than smiling a bit when I saw a pig equipped 7 incher in the first expendables... WTF does it matter what movies use them? Other than the pig and the NSR rail, unless its full on gun porn shot, how the hell would you tell other than going through frame by frame and looking for a roll mark?

I do not mean to be insulting, I truly don't. But threads like this belong on TOS, and do nothing but further fuel the call to get rid of any no technical threads here.
    Dont sweat the small stuff.

Plus the Noveske. And the Steyr AUG. And, and, and....
I was thinking that as well, lots of goodies in The Avengers.

No offense to those proclaiming mod intervention, but dont be such sticklers. Lighten up francis.

This is the AR General Discussion...

    https://www.m4carbine.net/forumdisplay.php?f=4

    ^^^ Technical AR Forum ^^^

If we truly wanna go all "this isn't AR specific and doesn't belong" then there is a lot more moderating that needs to be done other than this thread. (ie the "Where can I get it" thread - optics, handguns, ammo, shotguns... They all have their own sub-forum)

This thread by definition, is a general discussion pertaining to the AR platform, specifically Noveske rifles featured in film. Fair game.

For what's it's worth, the weapons seen in the Expendables (I & II) and well as the Avengers and probably Dredd were supplied ISS (Independent Studio Service). The weapons were built from hodge podge of parts, mostly supplied by Vltor. At the time of the first Expendables, Roland of ISS contacted me and asked if we could supply them with shorty upper assemblies for some "upcoming movies", which includes Expendables I. One request from Roland was to use John's Diplomat barrel and KX3 compensator. I called John and ordered the requested barrels and I scrounged up any VIS-1s (Blems and Demo models) I could find, because production VIS-1s were out of stock (as usual.) In all, I believe we built seven uppers and sent about 50 Gen 1 Modstock kits.

You could tell the uppers weren't Noveske marked in close up pictures of the movie guns. For example, Noveske's VISs never had the "Sword V" logo on the bolt assist module, like the Vltor VISs did.

For example, here's a link to a High Res Sylvester Stallone picture for Expendables II:

Here's a picture of the bolt assist module close up:

Now let's get back to normal M4C topics..
