The NVEC ENVIS M-703E (Evader's Night Vision Imaging System) is a lightweight, Generation 3, head mountable night vision monocular designed for aircrew for escape and evasion use. It uses a U.S. Generation 3, Omni 5, ITT/Exelis F9800N thin film(MX-10160), 64-72 LPMM Resolution image intensifier tube and features a built in Infra-Red illuminator.
The image is incredibly bright and clear with no blemishes. Includes a standard MILSPEC objective lens and threaded base as found on the PVS-14 so it will accept all standard accessories including 3X lens, compass, weapons mounts, head mounts, etc. This is a MILSPEC unit with the performance of an AN/PVS-14 Delta but without the heavy price tag.
The ENVIS battery compartment covers are secured by a screw that threads into a spring housed within the body. Because this spring nut doesn’t have a definite stop point it routinely gets over tightened and chips the narrow plastic wall between the two battery compartments. If you have an ENVIS it is either damaged in this area or will be within a short amount of time. The battery compartment on this unit had a very small chip in this area. It has been professionally and permanently repaired and reinforced using anodized aluminum and a high strength metal impregnated epoxy. This repair is superior to the original configuration and should last the lifetime of the unit. (See pic below)
Aside from the issue described above this unit is in excellent to near new condition and works great. With proper care and a 10,000 hour service life it will last a lifetime.

All night vision pics were taken during a complete overcast night with a slight suburban sky glow. Photos never quite capture the true image through optics. The actual image is superior to that represented in these photos.
