Hell yeah. Great choice. Just picked up a parkerized loaded myself with a trip to the custom shop in mind. I freaking love it.
I think they're awesome. I owned one for a couple months only to come to the conclusion that I'd never use the light rail and had some other priorities financially. I am not at the point in my career where I can afford to have a stable of different guns just because I like how they look. So I don't own a 1911 right now but hope to one day own a couple of them. This gun near the top of the list though. I say go for it, you will be very happy. Its a weighty for sure with the rail, and I actually think its part of what makes it feel so good.
When it comes to 1911s I am a Colt man, but if I had to choose a non-Colt 1911 it would be a Springfield MC Operator.
the question of do you need one is not a question to be asking a bunch of gun nut addicts who cant stop collecting guns, so to answer your question sir, YES you need one You need more than one!!!!!!
I've owned the MC-Operator (2), a half-dozen PRO's (7) and the railed PRO (just one). I don't think the railed-PRO is twice the gun that the MC-Operator is, and it costs well over twice as much. If you really want a railed 1911, I think the MC-Operator is pretty decent for what you can get them for used. Granted, I'm not a collector and no longer own a single .45 firearm.
Great gun. The answer to your question, OBVIOUSLY, was yes.![]()
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.
I own two of them and highly recommend them for the money. Good all around guns. Eat anything you feed them and never hick-up. Get one!
