I dont want to pass judgement just yet and call it a "fake" as the BCG came just wrapped up in a USPS envelope and had no packaging what so ever. Had it been in a "package" and labeled "LMT" than that would be a WHOLE different story!

Its possible that the person who shipped the BCG to me grabbed the wrong one off the shelf. The problem is the way they handled this from the start was surprisingly POOR!

Thats good news! My last "LMT" BCG from them about a month ago was in fact a real LMT.

I'm doing my best buddy! The camera battery was flat dead and I didnt want to use my Droid as I want the pics as clear as possible. It shouldnt be much more than another hour or two for the battery to charge.

Actually, the first call I made was to LMT (to verify this was NOT their BCG) and that call was actually short. Here is the gist:

    ME: "Customer service please"
LMT: "How can I help you"
ME: "High I just purchased an "LMT" BCG from "REDACTED", but it has a chrome lined key.."
LMT: (Politely interrupts me) "Thats no LMT BCG! We have been Meloniting keys for a long time now"
ME: "Yup, thats exactly what I expected you to say"
LMT: "Sorry to hear that, I would send it back for a refund"
ME: "AGREED! Thanks for your time!"

I had absolutely ZERO worry at that time that this supplier would give me any issues. I figured they would look into it and realize they sent the wrong carrier and get me a return label ASAP. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE things went very different! I will be posting the Email correspondance once I get an answer to my "relatively polite" demand for a return label and no restock fee.

Actually, my REAL LMT BCG does NOT* have the MIM markings and neither did this one. I think after they got some backlash they either stopped doing MIM or they adjusted the process to include a machining process to remove the MIM "mold marking" from the finished product.

Technically, the email "conversation" (since they just plain refuse to call me even after several requests) left off at them giving me an "RMA" and telling me to read their return policy. This is where I read about restock fee's and such, which is obviously why they told me to read it. To which I replied:

"This is your mistake not mine, I should not have to pay for return shipping NOR a restock."

I wondered about a NOS possibility but thats a real slim chance since:

The bolt does not have the "relief cut" (I guess you could call it?)
The extremely long time its been since they (LMT) chrome lined keys. It would have had to been literally a box that had been "lost" for several years. Since demand for BCG's are so high this would be a real stretch. Additionally, they did not claim anything about this possibility.

Out them and I'll bet the restocking fee disappears and a return shipping label appears.

I'd give it a business day or two to work itself out before you actually spell out the name though...I tend to believe that you'll be satisfied. Sometimes things need to work through channels as the person you initially spoke to might be mentally constrained inside of a box. These things almost always do get worked out, as it's a relatively small market we occupy. It's generally cheaper to keep one customer happy than it is to risk losing dozens or hundreds.

    Re: WARNING ABOUT LMT BCG's

You indicated that the vendor is here on M4C & that BCG came wrapped in a USPS envelope, correct? I know a vendor here that quite often wraps there stuff in USPS envelopes & they also had LMT BCGs in stock recently. If it's who I think it is, they will offer full store credit in lieu of a restocking fee. You may want to go that route.

Then again, I don't see them getting fake BCGs much less selling them.

These types of threads are childish.

Tell who it is and how they handle it in the OP. If you're scared of hurting someone's feelings, wait until the deal is done before you post. This thread has been no help to anyone so far.

Yet you did just about that with your title which screams hysterical. I purchased 3 LMT BCGs from LMT and they came wrapped in a piece of large brown paper in a box.

I'm pretty confident that I know who the vendor is since you have gone out of your way to mention them in other threads. I will attempt to contact and get their side as well.

Did you by chance bother to check the bolt? LMT bolts are marked rather unique with the 2 letter system they use and the MP stamp.
