I bought 1,000 rounds of Winchester white box .40 S&W at Wal-Mart yesterday. The 100 round boxes cost $26.88. Add taxes and 1,000 rounds cost $290.31.

With the dramatic increase in reloading supplies (bullets, primers, powder) in our area, I am not surprised that the .40 S&W ammo cost that much. .45ACP is going for $29.88 per 100 round box and 9mm is going for $21.99 per 100 round box. It's not going to get any cheaper in the future.
