How do you figure? The keymod design is open source... you or I could start knocking out keymod rails in our basement tomorrow and it would be perfectly legal. If you are saying the rail design itself was stolen, refer back to my post comparing the two. Every single dimension is different between the NSR and the Parallax rail... not by much, but it is different, therefore the rail is a different design. You'll also note that the shape of the two rails differs. The Parallax rail is round on the inside with flats added to the outside for the mounting points. The NSR is neither round on the inside nor the outside, and the flats are part of the shape of the rail, being the same thickness as the rest of the rail.

What you are saying is similar to saying that anyone who has made a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny quad rail hand guard after the first manufacturer began producing them should be sued... That's a little far fetched don't ya think? How would there be any compatibility within the industry if that were the case?

You can see from the pics that, aesthetically speaking, the panels look just as clean on the parallax rail as they do on the nsr.
Thanks for the pics. Now I'll have to consider getting one. What color is your Parallax rail cerekoted? From the pictures it looks like it's just anodized black.

Look closer. It's Tungsten. Dark lighting no flash

Yeah, that is a fair point. I guess that would be a bit like Knights being pissed at DD or any other sundry quad rail manufacturer or something. Heh.

I reached a certain conclusion when I heard that a company I'd never heard of came out with a cheaper and "less elegant" version of a very well known company's rail, with the same mounting system and everything. Either way, I'd still buy the NSR.

Crappy cell phone picture, but here it is. Really like the look and feel. I just got it all together last night, so I don't have any time behind it, but it feels good in the hand.

I also have to give a big thumbs up to Joe Chen at Parallax Tactical. I was looking for a blem so I could try one out on the cheap, but they didn't list any in FDE on the website. I emailed Joe and he put one on the site for me. Only "blem" I see is that it doesn't have the T-marks on top.

Also, emailed him a question this morning at 6:15am local time (4:15 on the West Coast) and had a reply within 4 minutes! Can't say enough about Joe's customer service thus far.

I can post some side by side pics of the two rails in a little while. Have the Keymod on my 5.56 and the other one on my 6.8.

Edit: here are a couple pictures.

    And from the top down.

I plan on doing a full review comparing the two but I'm waiting on my barrel for my 5.56. From just fondling the Keymod I actually may like it a little better than the other, but time will tell.

What wrench size does the Parallax Tactical keymod rail barell nut take? I bought one and the instructions page was poorly printed, looks like their printer was low on toner. Also what I read said it would take 2-3 shims to make it lineup, and my kit only came with 2, was that correct?
