You are correct, the Gen2 T-Series uses a propietary barrel nut.

I have a Gen2 T-Series on my SBR and a Gen2 two-piece on my 16" carbine. Both are rock solid with no issues, with the T-series being the lighter of the two. As far as anti-rotation tabs are concerned, the T-series utilizes tabs that engage on the included barrel nut. The two-piece rail uses what I would call internal anti-rotation tabs that also interface on the standard barrel nut.

I just installed a MI 9" Gen2 SS on my middy rifle and I really like it. Super light and slim. I had a 2 piece MI drop-in and the SS is a world of difference. I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. I wanted to keep the FSB, wanted a FF and a non-quad rail. Didn't need the rail space. The SS does use a MI barrel nut and it locks solid. It has anti-rotational tabs. At $150 it was a no brainer for me.

Just like anyone with the BRD, if I have to do it over I would of...
    1) bought the 12" SS tube
    2) bought a low pro gas block
    3) put the FBS out front of the SS tube to make a mock dissy

It would of cost a bit more, but you'd have a sweet looking rifle with a longer sight radius and more realistate to grab.

Anyway, I really like MI products. They are made in the US. And you'll have a little coin in your pocket for a trigger or ammo or whatever.

Check out these, you may like them better. You just have to ask yourself "What do I want and why?"

ETA: I sent my upper to ADCO for the install of the Gen2 SS. They did a great job and had it to me within 3 days. I don't have the tools to complete the job properly. This also factored into my spending decision.

    C4 FTW

I have several of each and I think the C4 rails mount up more solidly and also have a nicer appearance in terms of their design and look. Cost is a bit more but its my experience that you get what you pay for :P

I'm able to get the Midwest at cost through my job. The Centurion looks great and I would love one, but I can get the Midwest I'm considering for about $140, so that's a major factor.

I have a MI G2 two piece rail on a BCM M4 Mod 0. I looked at several rails, and went with the MI because of price and, primarily, because of the color options (black,od,fde) available. I got the OD rail, added some Magpul OD furniture, and now I'm ready to have the rest of the gun Cerakoted. If color is a consideration, go with the MI.

Centurion Arms C4 vs Midwest rail

Just put a 9" Midwest on my BCM. Was wanting to try out an NSR but decided to put the extra money into ammo.

    I'm pretty happy with it.

I have held both in my hands and you can tell where that $100 went.. Its kinda like sayin a KIA is every bit as good as a Lexus because they use some of the same parts..
