    Custom Knifemaker

Back when I was in the service I designed and had a sweet custom blade made for me by Dennis Phillips of ICC Knives. A very good friend of mine recently admired it, and I was thinking about having another one made, but when I went to find Dennis online I can no longer find his site and I don't think in business anymore.

Any recommendations on a custom knife maker?

It all depends on what you are going to be using the knife for.
Camping, hunting, protection, utility use, etc.
Check out this website, it's the American Bladesmith Society website with links to SHITTONS of custom knifemakers.
I looked through every single one of those links and found my guy, Burt Foster, he did a beautiful job and I will back him up any day of the week!!!
He offers a 15% discount to active duty military and will give you priority attention. Here's his website as well as the American Bladesmith Society link page, CHECK IT OUT.

I have a local guy named Landon Robbins working on a knife for me right now. He has mostlly done hunting knives & this will be the first knife he has done that is "tactical". He a small time guy who started doing knives as a hobby but wants to be bigger. I'll post pic's when he has finished it.

Bladeforums.com is a great site with tons of good custom knife makers. I would highly recommend Bob Dozier, Graham Brothers and Daniel Koster. Daniel could get you one in a reasonable amount of time too.

    I'm definitely looking for a tactical/battle knife.

The original I had designed was a modified kukhri. It also had a little "skinner" knife that I used as kind of a field scalpel.
