How Many ARs Are Too Many?

I was at Wal-Mart today and, while I was waiting on a prescription to be filled, I wandered back and was looking at the firearms. They had a Colt 6920 SOCOM for a reasonable price and it was really a sweet weapon. The whole time I ws looking at it, I could hear my credit card screaming from my wallet, "Hey, don't forget I'm in here!"

I resisted the temptation and it got me to thinking, how many ARs are too many? I have only been involved with ARs for about a year and have already managed to pick up three. My daughter even bought herself one. The three that I have are probably more than I will ever NEED, but I still have a list of ARs that I would eventually like to own, as well as a few build ideas. What do you guys think?

I thought about this and the only answer I could come up with is well...how ever many you want and what your budget will permit. I personally have 2. One is a BCM frankengun setup for CQB and the other is a 6920 that Im converting into a reece build. With the $$$ I have put out on these rifles I probly could have bought at least 2 more 6920's but 2 AR's are all I really need right now. Are there others I would like to buy? sure but 2 is what I will have for awhile, unless something crazy comes out that I just can not do without. I wish I had a better answer for ya but thats all I could come up with

Here is what I do. First question I ask myself, have I taken all the training that I NEED or WANT? If the answer is no, money goes there. Second question I ask myself, do I have thousands of rounds to practice with (and defend my home/bugout/etc with)? If no, money goes there.

If your answer is yes to the above, then buy another AR!

Sometimes it's when the WIFE (or husband, I suppose) says you have enough. Grrr....

Fortunately, ammo is covered (this week) and training is scheduled for next month.

But, I have that same temptation at my Walmart. Best to avoid the Sporting Goods section. Good luck.

That depends on the carrying capacity of your vehicle and the weight rating of your tires.

Two is plenty for me...16" and 20", and yes the temptation is still there everytime I visit my local gun shop or Walmart, or other related stores.. When that happens I think of spare parts I could use instead....upgrades to my current AR's, BCG's, lower parts kits, more mags, ammo, ammo, ammo, and then using them.

Some guys like to brag about all the ammo they have, and will never shoot. Some guys like to brag about all the tactical classes they take, and will never use. Some guys like to collect and build ARs or other weapons they may never fire, and the list goes on and on. I say good for them.

Personally, I think you should do what you want.
