Before anyone flames me for this dumb idea, keep in mind that this is a range toy project. It will not be used for sd, hd, door kicking, operating, tier 1 super secret black ops or anything like that. It is just a toy. Thank you. Now, to the question...
I am about a month away from getting the stamp for a 7.5" PWS SBR. I want to put a suppressor on it and my choices are either a silencerco saker or a surefire socom556 mini.
I am getting a good deal on the surefire, so cost difference is negligible.
5.56 only for this build. No 300 blackout. Don't want to stock another caliber, so no desire for a 7.62 can.
This particular rifle has a good track record running suppressed, but PWS isn't too keen on giving can recommendations. Either way, my only two options are the saker or socom mini.
The can will live on this host forever and ever, so having the ability to move it around is not a factor.
I know neither manufacturer will warranty the can on such a short barrel. It's a gamble I am willing to take.
I'm not under any illusion that this will be pleasant to shoot with either can. I know neither option will be hearing safe, BUT... which will be quieter? Or should I say least punishing?
Anyone have any experience with either can on such a short barrel?
