Yet another gun related editorial in the WSJ...

If anyone needed proof that Pennsylvania has a vibrant gun culture or that Democratic presidential candidates have given up opposing gun ownership, yesterday's sharp exchanges between the Clinton and Obama camps provided it.

ABC News reported that the Obama campaign sent out an automated phone call message yesterday featuring a gun owner claiming that the Illinois Senator "respects our traditions" while "Senator Clinton voted to allow guns to be confiscated." The call refers to the fact that Mrs. Clinton was one of 16 senators to vote against an amendment barring police from confiscating guns from homeowners during an emergency, as was done with abandon in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Hillary Clinton quickly responded with her own "robocall" that attempted to tar Mr. Obama as an elitist, antigun liberal. The call featured a narrator deploring the fact that as an Illinois state senator, Barack Obama "supported a ban on all handguns, and he even personally filled out a questionnaire saying he supported the ban. Now instead of telling you the truth about that, he's trying to cover it up, saying he never saw the questionnaire – even though his handwriting was on it."

Mrs. Clinton then dug the knife in: "This is just another example of Barack Obama saying one thing, and doing another – and yet another issue John McCain will use against Obama to win in November."

It's well known that Democrats decided to soft-pedal the gun issue after being hurt in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections. But this year the gun question has come back with a vengeance, with the unusual twist that both major Democratic candidates now are competing to see just how pro-gun each can portray themselves as being.

    Yeah, right.

"I am not in favor of concealed weapons," Obama said. "I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

Yeah, that's what he really "feels" about it!

The anti rights folks should really give up on trying to justify banning guns and denying folks a CWP. Too many people, in too many states have been carrying concealed firearms for way too long...with out the anti's predictions coming true...for their BS to be credible at all.
