Thats nice and all, so we just give up on the only politician who may be of any hope in 2016.

Was there supposed to be a choice of Yes, 12 years, then shoot them just to be on the safe side?

I think the fourth answer is where my heart lays but my mind knows it will be at a minimum of 50 years before our nation collapses so I picked a 12 year term limit in an attempt to eek out an additional 20+ years of Stars and Stripes on top of the 50 I predict we'll last...

What we need is to educate voters. Simply putting limits on terms is not going to change much other than make the politicians even easier to buy because they know at the end of their term they will need a job with one of the people or firms they helped while in office.

Educated voters will vote for whoever protects their rice bowl. Term limits will lessen the amount of damage a particular politician can do.

In addition to term limits, a politician should be prohibited from being a lobbyist or taking a position of influence with any vendor with a Federal contract for another 12 years after leaving office.

Wishful thinking brother. The average voter cares about being educated on the issues as much as sitting through a seminar on wormhole theory.

Sadly I believe the rest of your synopsis is spot on.

I agree that its wishful thinking. It frustrates me that people care more about American idol than they do the presidential election.

I would like to get rid of professional lobbyist's all together. I would also like to see a non professional political system. Meaning that those in DC have normal jobs in the off season and don't make their money in politics.

Who's going to be doing the educating?
