    Update here,

Got an email back from Monty, and he said he has no problem with a refund. I am going to rethink the SBR route, and then decide most likely on an 11.5/12.5 for better reliability. No doubt Centurion Arms makes great stuff and I love their rail, I just don't want to have to second guess the upper's reliability. I think i have it narrowed to a bad bolt/extractor, but i'll let the professionals figure it out. Thanks for the help guys

Did it occur to you to allow someone with more knowledge and experience to look at the upper and the BCG?

I'll tell you what. Send it to me and I will examine it from top to bottom and isolate the issue.

Your total cost is shipping only.

I've owned several 10.5s and 10.3s with no problems. Bought and sold over the years.

It really boggles my mind that there are so many "problems" with them nowadays.

It must be because there are so many out there now.

    I have a 10.3 inch DD Mk18 and 11.5 BCM with the Mk18 rail.

The 10.3 had been exhibiting signs of being overgassed and giving me fits with similar malfunctions listed by the OP - both suppressed and unsuppressed. Iraqgunz was a big help in getting some of the issues resolved but I was still having issues (thanks IG). Finally, I got tired of the self-diagnosis and I called Daniel Defense. They gladly listened to my issues and asked for the upper back for inspection and repair on their dime. I got the upper back in less than two weeks total.

DD told me they inspected the gas port, gas block, polished the chamber, bore, replaced the BCG and test fired several times suppressed and unsuppressed. I am happy to report that, so far, it functions great. The brass still ejects at about 1 o'clock but it is nowhere near as far a distance as before. Does this mean it's overgassed? I don't know? I have come to learn that the brass ejection pattern from an upper may not mean a dang thing in terms of being overgassed. So long as it stays reliable, that's all I care about at this point. I have no reason not to trust DD and what they did to it upon return to them.

Lastly, I will say that the 11.5 BCM eats everything I have throw at it and has not hiccuped once. Nice little pile of brass at about 4 o'clock every time for brass ejection.
