    Is it my imagination, or is that much heavier gas tube--and one that seems to curve at a very different angle than what is usual?

    Gor the rifle out and looked at it. Gas tube appears normal. I guess the photo made things look out of whack, for some reason.

    There's nothing wrong with the gas tube. The silver glint at the beginning of the rail is the piece that locks down over the tube.
