Proof that Bubba is alive and well in Mississippi

Last Friday I rescued an M&P 15/22 from the local gun shelter---pawn shop. I decided to purchase it after hearing the price and breaking down the little fella to make sure it didn't have fleas...um....problems mechanically and to inspect the barrel, etc. This poor thing had been "Bubba'd" and I mean bad. In some ways inexplicably and others down right hysterical.

Behold and look closely from front to back. You'll notice quite a few High Drag Low Speed (no offense to you HDLS )Redneck Tactical accessories and the brilliant application of items as they were never intended to be used:

I'll point out the most awesome thing by far on this rifle to me right off the bat. Keep in mind this pic was how it was when I purchased it. Since the Duck Dynasty fan placed the Simmons scope on top I am sure he thought it sits so low I can't even see past the front sight post let's take that sight off and.....hey....it kinda looks like...like a hand stop!!!

Next up the special purpose single point sling attached to the 'parade sling mount' on the very back of the stock. I just don't have the words...at all.

Next up on the gold nugget train something I still haven't figured out. There is a huge rubber grommet looking device wrapped around the barrel and sits against the end of the handguard. Also at the end of the barrel was a piece of steel tubing placed over the barrel. Home made surppresor mount???? Honestly, no clue. This is where the Milwaukee's Best really started to tip the BAC scale.

Is the rubber piece one of those snake oil items that is supposed to make the gun more accurate. I remember seeing an ad years ago claiming it reduced barrel whip.

.....and underneath the steel tubing. Freaking hard to get off electrical tape.

And of course Magpul's closest rival in terms of rail protection, UTG covers of which 2 cracked when I took them all off and then commenced to using them as target practice after de-Bubbafying the 15/22.

And a pic taken a couple of hours after getting her home.

Yeah its not the threaded barrel version but after sending it to ADCO I am only going to have about $360 in it. Couldn't turn it down even if it had been horribly and hysterically messed with. Thank goodness he didn't mess with the function of the rifle. It runs just like my old 15/22 which is perfect. Thought you fellas would get a kick out of this.

Haha that's awesome. Wish I could find a steal like that! It's amazing what some people decide to do to their weapons.

That handstop is priceless, Jax! Glad to see it make it into the hands of somebody who knows what they're doing.

Days later and I am still laughing and shaking my head about the hand stop. Just awesome.

This guy probably has a new rifle with an AFG as a front sight.

You have to admit, that hand stop is pretty clever. Retarded, but clever.

    Jax,

Love the suppresor and hand stop. That's southern engiunity and alcohol at its finest.

The only thing that would have been better is duct tape and bailing wire.

Actually I will give the owner props for one thing I forgot to mention. I use this rifle as a training rifle. When I had my last 15/22 I was always trying out different things to weigh it down to give it a more real AR feel to it. This guy removed the rear plug in the fake receiver extension and stuck a roll of pennies in it. Works perfect and probably weighs about the same as an H Buffer....pretty smart and weighs down the rear nicely.

    Wow, just wow...

I'm glad it has a new home. Almost like a puppy that used to be beaten...
