Oh and is that an ARMS mount on a riser?? Haven't seen that since the 90's!

I've been into ARs since the late 90s and still using gear from back then... notice the A1 grip and the original Redi-Mag.

I'm still a big fan of a properly pinned FSB. Rugged and simple; can take a beating and still work. As for free float rails, etc... only two guns have 'em. My SBR with a original ARMS SIR Rail and my hunting rig with a Troy 13 inch bravo rail. Everything else is Magpul Moe handguards.

I think I'm kinda stuck in the late 1990s to early 2000s.

For me, the Midlength MOE HG with a FSB is long enough for proper support hand positioning.

With that combo, you can run your thumb right up the back of the FSB, so it's effectively a little longer than it "looks".

The CAR is too short to extend the support arm fully, so it is third choice.

The rifle is plenty roomy, but adds extra weight, so it takes a close second choice behind the mid.

This was my Spike's AIM Surplus Exclusive Dissipator.
Aimpoint PRO and Troy fixed rear sight.
My old eyes and bifocals need the longer sight radius of a rifle
but the 16" LW barrel & MOE handguard was appealing to me.
When the last AR rush first started, I met a fool and his money soon departed him.
Away went the Dissy but thoughts of another one stay in my head.

I like having 1 AR in the safe with FSB, so the 16" PSA CHF MOE Middy seals that deal.
C4, I'm NOT one of the duo you spoke of either..

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you,
but it's still on my list.

If you are happy then drive on. I would however reconsider that sight set up. Ditch that rail riser and ARMS trash and get a good lower 1/3 co-witness mount.

I would also ditch the target sights in favor of DD 1.5s at a savings of a quarter pound.

Is the BCM 12.5" Kino not considered a dissipator?

i like my 'dissipator' setup - cleans up the front end of the rail, allowing me to mount more crap on there
