Carrier shift during dry-firing (and I'm assuming live fire also)

I went to the range the other day to test my freshly built AR15. When I got home I cleaned it and did a safety function check. That's when I noticed the bolt carrier shifting when dry firing.

Here's a video to demonstrate what I mean compared to another AR15. They're two separate BCM BCGs.

Is this normal? I swapped the BCGs between the two rifles and narrowed it down to the upper receiver.

I have two uppers built by a reputable manufacturer which do this. I don't think it's an issue. Neither one has had any problems functioning with a broad range of ammunition and both are more accurate than I'll ever be.

They are both built with MUR uppers.

As long as the bolt stays locked into the barrel extension it shouldnt matter.

I think what they are trying to say is: "Don't worry bout it".

This was actually built to be an accurate rifle, would this hurt at all?

Proper alignment... make sure it is not "loading" the bolt carrier to one side or the other - there should be no noticeable contact when the key hits the tube. None.

Strip the carrier down and then take your upper receiver and flip it upside down. Visually look at the tube to see if it is straight. Then insert the carrier into the upper and slowly ride it forward. If it is binding or hesitating then it is hitting the carrier key and needs to be tweaked.
