    First Build

I found a new Noveske gen 2 for a price I couldn't pass up and that was my reason for building this. I have a BCM with 14.5 with a battle comp and DD Lite 12 and I'm not a huge fan of the size and weight of the Lite rail so I've wanted to build something with a smaller lighter rail for a while. Getting the gen 2 lower was a good reason to build a rifle I could try things that I previously haven't used.

    Anyway on to the specs:

    VLTOR MUR upper
Centurion Arms LW CHF 16" mid-length
    Centurion Arms pinned gas block
    Daniel Defense fixed sights
Haley Strategic edition Inforce WML on Thorntail mount
    BCM BCG
    Raptor Charging Handle

    Noveske Gen 2 lower
    Colt small parts
G.I. Trigger from a BCM lower
    B.A.D A.S.S.
    BCM gunfighter grip mod 1
VLTOR A5 RE w/A5h2 and green springco
    Noveske QD receiver plate
    BFG Padded VCAS
    B5 Bravo stock

Edit: I also plan on changing out the trigger. My other two rifles run ALG ACT's. As much as I like a good G.I. trigger, I want to try out a Geissele but I'm torn between the SSA and SDC.

I plan on putting a T1 w/DD mount and changing the light to a M300B w/gear sector mount. I just finished it today so hopefully in the next day or two I will be able to take it to the range. I don't post much on here and I'm using Tapatalk for the first time so I apologize for any mistakes.

I do am not liking my DD LITE rail either in 12". I, however, like how robust it is.

And whoa, dude you basically built the rifle I want!

I'd Just want an actual FSB, and Troy rear flip up.

How is the CMR vs LITE rail?

Yea the DD lite rail is definitely a beast and locks up super tight. Going from the Lite to the CMR is pretty drastic. The CMR is dramatically smaller and lighter. I like how light the rifle is but it might take a little while to get used to the size of the CMR. I'll let you know more after my first range trip.

That's a carbine done right! Great part choices, IMO.

You could run it as is and it do very well I suspect.

An Aimpoint micro sitting on top would compliment it very well.

The CMR is a slick rail. I had one for a hot minute and really liked it.

I went from an DD Lite 9 to a Noveske NSR 9 on my 11.5 SBR. The weight difference wasn't huge, but it all came from the front half of the rifle. That, plus the smaller diameter (the Lite is a behemoth by comparison) makes for a completely different rifle.

    Thanks for the kind words.
I'm actually a fan of Irons and don't mind running irons only plus the DD's are really nice. I had an Eotech for long time and tho I liked the reticle it had its share of problems. I've never owned an Aimpoint so I figured I'd give it a try.
Why did you get rid of your CMR and what did you replace it with?

How do you like your NSR? I wanted one until I seen centurion release the CMR. Built in QD sockets and being able to use a standard barrel wrench is what swung me to the CMR.

My next project is actually gonna be a 11.5 SBR after I sell my 14.5 w/the dd lite. How is having a 9"rail? I shoot with my support arm extended forward and I feel like 9" would put my arm almost all the way to the end.

Do any of you guys know if the NSR is skinnier than the CMR? I'm doing an SBR build for my old lady and I'm stuck on what to get her

I believe that was answered in the CMR thread and if I'm not mistaken they are just about the same. I highly doubt you'll need anything slimmer. My girlfriend has small hands and it works good for her.
