“Answer The Bell...” J.W.
I think what you rape thinkers are missing is that data mining is nothing new. In college they give you a degree for it, only they call it marketing.
As scary as it is, the government seems more honest about it than the private sector. Do you really think all those discount cards you sign up for aren't tracking what, when and where you buy? These companies are making billions off of your "likes" without passing a cent onto the end user.
Government is catching up, but still always a few steps behind.
Odd thing, all the rape victims I've spoken with have NEVER been attractive, or wearing anything that could be construed as seductive. But why would reality get dragged into a GD thread...

Yes but we have a choice to use all those cards or social media sites. Don't have a choice in the gov hacking into those sites, issuing general warrants for our call data, and generally doing what it does.
I'm just saying that using technology or the internet it's not right to blame the user because the gov is doing illegal shit. One person is acting legally and one is not. So I'm not going to blame the person who was within the law.
Saying that everyone is doing it is akin to saying rape is OK because everyone is having sex. You're not getting the part where the .gov gets to stick it to you without your consent if they so choose. You can always decline any marketing based intrusion on your privacy. The government? Not so much.![]()
What if this whole crusade's a charade?
And behind it all there's a price to be paid
For the blood which we dine
