That mount is be best one for the surefire G2X. It hugs the weapon light so close to the rail and the mount is seemless with no edges and because it keeps the light so close it prevents the light from snagging up on molle gear, radio coms, seat harnesses and such. It is an invaluable tool for anyone that has gear + weapon.

Is there an easy way to tell between the Mod 0 and the Mod 1 by looking at it?
    Absolutely...

The cross-bolt on Mod 0 went completely through the base.

The cross-bolt on Mod 1 is now captured by a threaded index and triples the amount of thread engagement over Mod 0.

That is a lot of meat for the screw to grab into. I noticed that immediately when mounting and it provides positive locking pressure to the clamp. Great design!

Excellent, thank you! After experiencing yet another backorder situation, I found the scout mount in FDE in stock on your site so I just ordered one direct. I'm tired of waiting

I may be mistaken, but the mod 0 did require you to slide the mount on via the end of the rail, right?

Based on the above rendering, I definitely like the new mod 1 design, since the index tab means the mounting method changed (for the better). Now it can be installed at any location on a rail without sliding it on.

    Not entirely true.

The initial runs did indeed require you to slide the component on your rail. However, due to popular demand we made an inline change that allowed you to place the component anywhere on a rail without requiring you to slide it on. Again, this change was an inline change and didn't warrant a change in nomenclature.

"Rock on" components have been widely available for several years now under the same Mod 0 designation.

The Mod 1 designation was required since it meant a deviation not only in hardware ( shorter 8-32 socket head cap screw ) but also in components ie. different clamp and body styles that would not be interchangeable with the previous Mod 0 units.

Gear sector makes a very solid mount that is also low profile. Excellent product.

If I had known this I would have purchased a scout mount years ago. I had simply seen the originals when released and passed because it was inconvenient to use on my setup back then.

Anyway, I should have a mod 1 today thanks to your quick shipping.
