Still done with them entirely… I won't spend another penny in their stores, buy another bean of their coffee, and I sure as hell will be telling all of my friends to do the same.

Being in Seattle, I have spent thousands at their stores. Hope that me and like minded people can help them feel the pinch.

I honestly cant' blame them one bit. They were backed into this position by idiots using the stores for publicity. The whole "Starbucks appreciation day" with OCers shoving it in peoples face? What did they expect to happen? It put Starbucks in the spotlight, a place they never wanted to be. They didn't want to pick sides in this. But their hand was forced.

I do like how he worded it though. He has "asked" No store policy, no outright ban. So you CC in there and accidentally flash your gun getting your wallet. They can't go and have you arrested. However now it makes the OC idiots (not people who just open carry but the ones looking for attention) have to play the bad guy.
Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

I agree with kwelz. You can thank the "I have something to prove" crowd. Since I don't carry a firearm at all when I am out and about it won't impact me.

"We kindly ask that you refrain from free speech in our stores. We understand that it's your legal right, but we understand that free speech has made some people uncomfortable and we don't want to be a place where people feel uncomfortable. We know that it's not popular, and we aren't putting in an outright ban, but we want all people to feel welcome…"

Sorry, I can't support someone that chooses to ignore my rights. I've never OC'd in a Starbucks. CC'd plenty. Won't be doing either anymore. If I can't stand for my principles, then how dare I stand at all?

    Yeah, I gotta agree.

Starbucks didn't ask to be OC central. Imagine if a bunch of Gay Rights advocates started having "appreciation days" at your favorite fast food joint and every time you went there it was 80% gay pride shirts. Eventually you'd find someplace else to get your fries and a coke.

I'm very much in favor of having an OC "option" but you shouldn't organize to alienate businesses and piss off half of their customers.

The in your face activist style OCer's are like the dudes in a gay pride parade wearing bondage gear and doing weird shit on a float in the middle of the street.

So if the LGBT crowd decided to have appreciation / pride days you'd be just fine with that expression of the first amendment and wouldn't feel like they've wrongly hijacked a business and created an atmosphere some would find objectionable?

No one is ignoring your rights, and he clearly said that they are not going to prohibit people from doing so. They were put into the position by the idiots who think they have something prove.

If a business doesn't want firearms inside, that's their prerogative. Sometimes those policies are made locally and sometimes they are corporate. You then have the option of no spending your money there.

I go into restaurants often that have no firearms allowed signs. I bear the responsibility of doing so. I keep it concealed and I don't announce it to the world. If they ask me to leave I will kindly get up and go elsewhere. It's really simple, unless people choose to make it harder.

It's their right (Steyr's point, not IG's). I know that I am not allowed to pick and choose on those rights. The ones that I like and the ones that I don't are all equally important. Far to many people, people in my own family even, have fought and died to protect those rights.

I didn't say they can't make the request. I said that I view it as infringing upon my rights and I will spend my money elsewhere. It's an inconvenience for me. I went there pretty much daily. In Seattle they really are on every corner.
