lol I find it funny that everyone plays out thier fantasies of destruction on these games.

Yea my roommate likes it but I never got the fascination with running around pretending to steal cars and run over bystanders.

Its even more funny when they pop some Prozac and Paxil, then their fantasy of destruction can be combined with increased suicidal behaviors.....Tons o' fun....

...and we wonder why our kids are shooting up their buddies at school.

...they sit around eating junk food and anti-depressants and playing games like this.

Easy tiger, nobody blamed anything for anything. Its just a well known volatile mix...

Psychosis, Psychotic episodes, depression, insomnia, ect, are known side effects of numerous SSRI's. Mix that with a sweet video game where you're main objective is killing (not GTA particularly, but I'm sure those who partake in GTA love modern warfare, medal of honor, ect). You can see where someone that's doped out of their mind might not be able to distinguish reality from fantasy....

I would say big pharma is the problem. But that's crazy. Now go back to wasting 12hrs a day of your life by living through a video game.

So we're not blaming jazz, rock n roll, heavy metal, or gangster rap for our societies problems anymore?

The comments on the abuse of prescription drugs I agree with, but blaming the medium is just moronic.

I don't buy the pharmaceutical BS either. It's not guns, it's not music, it's not video games, it's not even culture. But if you want to make those connections, you'd have to admit that society is actually safer now than it has been in a century...seems like maybe those things are positive.

Sometimes crazy people on crazy people drugs sometimes still do crazy people things? Unbelievable.

I'm not talking anti-depressants, plenty of people take them for plenty of reasons with great results. Sometimes crazy people take them, and they don't have enough of an impact. Zoloft doesn't magically make people go kill people.

At some point, we should look at statistics and realize that crazy people have always done crazy things, at about the same frequency as they do now. We just have a 24hr news cycle that coves the entire nation, and loves to shove horror stories down our throats.

OH.....MY......GOD. Something that actually makes sense.

Now if you don't mind I've been playing a lot of Call of Duty lately and need to go kill a bunch of people. This video game is controlling my mind!

By the way that is sarcasm for the FBI/CIA/NSA guys following this thread.

Rented a copy of GTA 5 today and returned it two hours later. Even after deleting all my stored data, I still didn't have enough space to do the initial 8gb install.
