I was lookin' at the parts and thinkin about a Colt I have at Alchemy right now. All I kept was the frame, slide, MSH, springs and most of the pins.
That MC is gonna be a badass pistol!![]()
Basically after all the math is done, for a good price on the MC Operator (or Colt Rail Gun), it's comparably cheap to start off with that and build it part for part how one wants than starting bare frame and slide and having a smith spend the same sort of time getting it finished.

Should turn out really nice.
Sent you a PM with a question about the work order.
Today I got the call from SACS...my Operator will be home Tuesday. I gotta say I'm very happy with the turn around time.

Awesome! I have one too and want to do almost the same work. Looking forward to some pics.

Very nicely executed. Looks like they did a nice job blending the new grip safety to the previously cut tangs. I am a sucker for a nice 1911.
Did you do anything with the barrel and bushing? Any reliability work done?
An early Christmas present, eh? Looks very nice. I did something similar to my Operator about a year and a half ago (dumped about $1200 at the SACS) and, from the looks of things, made many of the same mods. I was very pleased with the results although I have, admittedly, not had much range time with it yet.
But spring is on the way . . . my understanding is it follows winter, which should be arriving in a week or so (although the tail end of our fall has been a tad brutal).
Here's a rather crappy pic of mine (obviously I retained the original color):
