Famous last words uttered by many in many different industries. Chinese will undercut the prices to the point that they drive their competitors to the ground. Can't compete against cheap slave labor and massive scale of Chinese factories.

With that being said, I won't buy Chinese even though Walmart will be carrying these in large quantities.

Exactly. Many local grocery stores in my area have not been able to compete with all the new Walmarts that have popped up. Stores like Winn-Dixie, Albertsons, etc have closed down because most people will buy the cheap Chinese crap at Walmart instead.

Lets hope these chinese AR parts don't become mainstream in the US. I always prefer to support my local economy, esp in my own state. KAC, Spikes Tactical, Tactical Machining, Core Rifle Systems, are all local here in FL and I'll continue to give them my $$

Unfortunately I believe that like most products Chinese and Hong Kong made AR's will eventually become the norm, and US made high end AR's will be the exception. I think even respected US manufacturers will start manufacturing in China and Hong Kong once the price of AR's drops in the US due to the influx of cheap Chinese AR's.. if they want to survive they will have to cut costs by cutting expensive American manufacturing and having them made overseas. Who knows maybe one day we will even see AR's made in India.. There will always be manufacturers in the US selling high end AR's and people to buy them, but I think that market will shrink as well. As another poster said, something I liked about this industry is that it has always been US based.. looks like that's gonna change soon though.

I'd be willing to bet we are already seeing AR's on the bottom end of the spectrum with Chinese parts and that trend will increase - you get what you pay for and yes there are countless thousands of mouth breathers lined up to buy the cheapest crap available

So be it - if or when the stuff fails I won't spend 2 seconds feeling sorry for them ; you get what you pay for - life has taught me there are few exceptions to that rule

What percentage of the counterfeit AR parts on the market now are of Chinese origin?

Back in the 80's folks liked the SKS and AK's coming out of China. They were good rifles. Then the M14 and 1911 knockoffs started coming out of China and many shooters liked them better than the Springfield Armory rifles and handguns. A Chinese produced M4 might be a good rifle too.

Well if the cheap China AR's and parts start failing in short order experienced certified AR armorers here in the states will make a decent wage repairing same from the uninformed who buy them.
We are all inclined to judge ourselves by our ideals; others, by their acts.

Most people buy the Springfield with cheap imported parts and don't care about the quality all they want is a M1A. That being said I bought a made in China AK type and cheap spam cans of ammo and it ran great too bad I sold it for twice what I paid for it during the firs Kali - fornia gun ban. I don't understand how the gooberment gets away with the stuff they pull. I guess the goons that uphold the law have no conscience of what is proper.
