dalefan88, it wouldn't hurt to check this out while you're at it. Read down to the section about the rifles used.

Out of four rifles two had barrel nuts that had been torqued on to just 5 ft/lbs.
Thanks for the info. Will check that.

Run it to death. Use the Bushmaster customer service to its fullest.

Think big picture - have as much fun with this as you can, and down the road you'll NEVER have to justify the cost of a quality weapon to the pretty lady again.

The Bushmaster AR15 is the anti-gunners favorite. They can ban it by name and do us all a favor. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I'd be careful tightening that buffer tube since the whole lower is plastic...

Bushmaster is alright for an AR I've had two and it worked good,I'm sure it's no Colt or whatever is the brand of choice but for general use it's fine.

I had the carbon 15 pistol and that's why I warn you about getting too spry on tightening,I'd say the Carbon AR's are ether plinkers or hunting guns NOT something I'd get into a fight with.

Thanks for the info. It is mainly a plinker.

Good to hear. Did you thread your RE in further ? Also, don't forget to torque & stake your castle nut.

Good for you OP, now list and sell it on TOS while it is still relatively new and before the receiver cracks beyond repair causing yourself more headache. Lesson learned, tell the wife to stick with tried and proven gear in the future...

Just run what you got.. if you have a LGS that has a stripped lower cheap. Pick it up to replace when/ if breaks. There is probably someone in your area to guide you swaping parts over You can upgrade as needed. .

That is terrible. I've not seen many bushmasters I like. And I hear too many stories that are awful... Oly, dpms, whatever they are hit or miss and I can't understand why people still buy them.
