    Dual PVS-14 mount

Does anyone have some recommendations on a dual PVS-14 bridge mount? I need one that will interface with a Wilcox L4 G24 arm.

This states that it works with the Wilcox dovetail: http://tnvc.com/shop/n-vision-dual-pvs-14-adapter/

If that's a no-go, might be worth asking the TNVC folks in their dealer subforum as to what'll fit your needs.

Thanks for the link. I checked out that N-Vision mount, however I'm not a fan of how it clamps down on the focus ring to secure the PVS-14. I searched and found an alternative dual mount that looks to be a better design. This other mount has some QD features and uses the proper mounting interface on the PVS-14.

Has anyone used this dual mount? http://www.modarmory.com/index.php?m...oducts_id=1302

Shoot, no, but I'd LIKE to!

The way that stows...niiiiice. And I while I see what you're saying about how the other one mounts, do the ring-clamps not fall immediately behind the focus-rings...?

    Nice find!

I have one and posted in the other thread, I really like the dual mount that mod armory sells. Is there is anything in particular you want to know about it?

the modular dual pvs14 system is slightly more heavy, but with that weight comes quite a feature rich setup.

    is that weight worth it?

do you prefer the dual monocular setup over a binocular set up that is not modular?

is the pvs14 going to be viable for a long time or are there other monoculars that are going to eclipse it technology/capability-wise?

I personally think it is as there are times when someone without NV comes out and it's nice to be able to split them up and share.

For me personally as I mentioned, I already owned a pvs14 that was out of warranty. I guess if I did not have a 14 to start with a dedicated set of duals may have been a stronger consideration. Additionally with the dual 14 setup you can still weapons mount a nv unit (though I don't).

I can't really comment on this as it is out of my lane.
A couple other things, the dual14 mount has a continuous range of motion, no stops or clicks at certain positions. The units can be positioned or moved independently of each other. The tension or friction can be tightened or loosened depending on preference. I tightened mine up a bit and do not experience any sagging or shifting while moving.

I personally would also recommend a counter weight when using the setup as it is nose heavy without.

Good discussion fellas! Now, if you wanted to split off one of the -14's to give to a buddy, would you need to remove the MOD Armory arm and install a different adapter if your buddy wanted to helmet mount the PVS-14 you just gave him on his Wilcox dovetail NVG mount?

Ah good question, I forgot to mention that. The mod armory arm will fit in the Wilcox dovetail mount but it is in the centerline of the helmet rather than offset over an eye. You would have to switch the arm out to a different adapter. I kept my old rhino and j-arm for this exact reason. It is a pretty quick swap that only requires an allen wrench and I just do it before heading out.

One other thing I forgot to mention is that the mounting arms for the dual mount are specific for either ITT or L3 housings as they are slightly different bodies. If you don't know what you have, ITT has gold colored contacts while the L3 has silver contacts. I have one of each so I just specified that when ordering a mount and told them which would be right and left.
