    Full Size

    Hello,
Guys, what is your opinion on the G30, do you think a .45acp should be a full size gun 5in bbl?

Carried 1 for 10+ years and 100,000+ rounds( through multiple guns).
Accurate, compact, recoil is not bad. Shortness of the backstrap can make a 4 day 2000 round class tiresome. Recoil and short backstrap make the base of the thumb take more impact.

I never could warm up to the 30.

    Too thick.
Why the two-finger grip with an extended mag?

The guys who like 'em love 'em, so I guess you get it or you don't...

Some shooters like them, and others not so much. Since they've been on the market, I've only see one with an issue, and that was a loose ejector. They're a good option if you want a compact 45 ACP handgun.

You're the one that has to be comfortable and like whichever handgun you carry. If you like to carry a G30, have at it

The full size Glock 21 doesn't even have a 5" barrel. If you're looking for a cch, Glock makes a 30S which is a single stack. If you have access to a range that rents out handguns, I'd shoot before you buy. The 30 is very nice for concealment, not so nice for extended range trips or training classes.

Glock 30 is the only 45acp I own any more. The only time I use it is if I am going to CA since it has a 10 round magazine. I am looking at buying a ranch in Afrika and have thought about buying a .460 roland conversion for my Glock 30 to use as a carry gun on the ranch.

But my carry gun is a Glock 34 or 17 with a threaded barrel for outside the USA and a Glock 35 in .357 sig for in the USA.

The 30S is a 30SF frame with a 36 slide. The single stack gun you're thinking of is the Glock 36.

I had one for awhile, it was a G30sf, if that matters.. I thought it felt wonderful in my hand and shot as smooth as butter, but it was damn heavy and I rarely carried it because of that.
