According to the errornet experts that's not possible.

    Whaa?

It's a well known characterisitic of the 47D. I won't call it an issue, or a problem, since the mags work. The springs just don't last all that long.

The followers do a lot better if you a have good slide stop. If your slide stop engagement is marginal, I think it chews up the follower.

I run the Wilson 47s (7 rounder) and they last for a long long time. When the mags get some significant miles on 'em, I usually sell 'em to the 'tinkerers', dirt cheap, and buy new ones. I don't rebuild mags. Discard and replace.

My 1911s run. They cost a chitload of money. That's life.

Rinspeed-Just the way it was. The mags were perfect when I got them, and solved the feeding problems I was having with the stock mags. But over time, the feeding became clunkier to where you could feel the rounds impacting the feedramp a bit harder, etc. I still have the mags. I installed Tripp springs and followers, turning them into excellent 7 rounders(I'd bought the eight rounders). And they run excellent. They've fed another 500ish rounds since replacing the spring in my Dad's pistol, to include my initially terrible reloads. If the ETM's feed as well as the 47D's, and retain proper feed lip shape/spread, then the longer spring life of this newest offering sounds like a winning combo to me.

Springs wear out, plain and simple(which was news to me at the time). I now consider them a wear item. I probably would not have ever quit using the 47D's if I'd known that simply replacing the spring would keep them running. I just knew I needed new mags, and gave CobraMags a shot. I'm a fan of what works, and the CobraMags did, so I have been using them. I look forward to trying the new ETM's because I think the floorplate attachment looks like it's more solid, not that my CobraMags have broken there before.

I'll say that I have very much liked how WC has treated me and my father as customers, especially during our first 1911 build of a Colt 38 Super. We intend to send them more work.

Guys, we tested these things for quite a while.....they are awesome. This spring is a leap ahead of what has been offered by anyone before....you simply have a mag spring for life.
A 1911 lifetime mag spring on a tube that hopefully won't spread and last as long....

    I'm in and ordering today
