VA funding is approved a year in advance. You have another 12 months until your sacred cash chow of government cheese runs out.

P.s. I'm currently using the 9/11 GI bill too.

Gov cheese that was part of our prior employment contract. ;-)

VA has said GI Bill funding will run out before the end of Oct. http://www.va.gov/opa/docs/Field_Guide_20130927.pdf

Shut this mother down. Its only non-essential fed stuff that's shutting down.

They don't want the mindless retards to realize people can make it without them (them being the feds).
A lot of scientific research has been deemed non essential. That includes cancer research.

Nothing in life is guaranteed. In these times, everyone's pension is on the verge of disappearing in to thin air..

Sure I'd like to see the crackheads cut off first, but that's probably not going to happen.

Fact is, if the FED doesn't keep propping up the bond market the entire U.S. financial system will collapse. The real bad part is, they cant keep this up forever...so its eventually going to collapse. Then we're all ****ed.

    And.......your point?

Its called the private sector. (I know shocker, the Government doesn't have to do everything...I mean come on we've got to come up with a lot of off base rent money, cancer research can be put on the back burner)

If we relied on the private sector alone we wouldn't be nearly as far with space exploration, medicine or technology. I'm very libertarian, but some of this important research needs the big bucks. Why? Because we all benefit.

NASA is shut down as well. Do you need to be reminded of how many things in your everyday life they pioneered? Or should the private sector have done all that work?

I have zero expectation that the government can continue to support long-term VA benefits beyond caring for the wounded. With an outstanding balance of $17T, virtually everyone should expect that something promised to them will not materialize. That includes people who have a contract and those collecting benefits from contributory programs such as Medicare and Social Security. Bottom line, we're broke and the only thing preventing a national bankruptcy is the fact that we can print money that is the world's reserve currency.
