    The Kitchen Sink

After 6 months of research and running parts down on top of moving out of California to Texas, she's finally done. Although this is my first build, my Colt 6940 wouldn't agree with that statement.

    Upper
    -Vltor MUR-1A
    -Geissele SMR MK2 RevC
-Daniel Defense "14.5 middy (gov. profile)
    -Geissele SGB (nitride)
    -WMD Nitromet gas tube
    -BattleComp 1.5 (black oxide)
    -Raptor charging handle
    -LMT Enhanced BCG
    -Daniel Defense 1.5 fixed sights
    -KAC handstop
    -Surefire Mini Scout M300B w/ SR07 switch
    -Aimpoint Pro w/ LT150 mount

    Lower
    -Noveske Gen2 Chainsaw
    -Geissele SD-C
    -Colt LPK
    -BAD CASS
    -Seekins mag release
    -VLTOR A5 RE
    -VLTOR A5H3 buffer
    -Springco Green spring
    -Noveske QD end plate
    -Noveske pins
    -Magpul STR w/Enhanced butt pad
    -Magpul MIAD

Sorry for the shit cell phone pictures but I was in a hurry. Anyhow, if weather permits, I'll be taking her to the range in a few hours and put a few hundred rounds down range.

The pinning and weld was done by AJ @ Blackjack Custom & Repair. He's got a small shop in North Austin but his work is high quality and his turn around time is the best in the area from what I've experienced. If you live in the area give him a call (512)450-3535.

Thanks to Blak1508 for helping out a rookie.

I don't think assembling an AR is that big of a deal. Moving from California to Texas though, that is great! Congratulations! I hope I don't have to do the same. Move from Florida to Texas that is. I don't think I would even visit California. Good looking rifle.

Thanks. My wife and I just saw it as our final PCS move with us funding the move. It was tough but we wanted our kids to be raised in Texas and near grandparents.
    Thanks again.

    Thanks!
She's gonna be my go to rifle, far from being a safe queen. Now that I'm in Tejas, I'll be participating in several carbine/tactical courses and this rifle fits the bill. I expect to put thousands of rounds through her in the next 6 months.

How did you enjoy your exile?

Isn't bridging the gap between the upper receiver and rail with the optic a big no no?

I don't see how it would be a problem with this Geissele rail and barrel nut. Plus, the locking lever is on the upper receiver. Thanks though, I'll check how it holds zero after a couple hundred rounds.

Nice rifle, all the good parts! Have you weighed the rifle yet? That rail gives the gun a heavy look, to me anyway. Enjoy it, I know I would!

I recommend that you simply move it back to the last space on the upper regardless.

Happiness is seeing "Welcome to Texas" in your rear view mirror

If it's any consolation, I'd move back to Texas before I moved back to California- but only if they gave me crazy money to work there
