You know. I answered no in the poll but then thought about it. I actually think they could be useful for draw practice, and trigger control.

    That has been my experience.

Long term I'm not sure its a true wash. Assuming you pay $300 or so for a GBB replica the ammo and gas are way cheaper than 9mm or 22VaporWare. The ability to train anywhere using your EDC gear has some advantage. You can get a couple of thousand trigger pulls for under $50.

My biggest gripe with the Airsoft MP9 aside from regular malfunctions is the crappy ass trigger. It's like negative 5# or something. The good side is that if I so much as touch the trigger during the draw stroke I will put a BB into my package. Reinforces good booger picker discipline I guess.

The triggers suck, the weight balance is generally off, and they're not sturdy enough for retention drills.
Other than that, airsoft is the best underused training tool available - anybody who says otherwise hasn't done it.

Well I've decided on the BB gun and will be extra careful when I unpack it. Both come to almost the same price and it is rated as more accurate, has a few more rounds per mag, and more FPS.

When my son gets of age to shoot he won't be pointing any gun at another human being for fun so the idea of being able to shoot a human with it isn't really a factor for me. If I ever get into force on force I think I am more intrigued by sim rounds.

I'll let you know what I think.

For those who want to practice their trigger press, why not buy a SIRT?

Nope. Top is a 22 that I have had issues with since I bought it, just haven't sent it back to S&W yet.

Bottom one is the BB gun.

    9mm in the middle.

    Middle on this one.
