I didn't go into the stores to "educate people." I had some time to kill and saw two gun shops that I had never visited. I merely went in to see what they had and perhaps make a purchase if I saw something that appealed to me. My wife had recently had a heart attack and I had a lot on my mind. It just irritated me that, in both stores, they were trying to pass off lesser quality ARs as top of the line. Also, I did not intervene in any transactions. The only people involved in the "education" were the clerk and myself.

That day was atypical as far as the way I usually behave. I generally check out Walmart's guns about once a week because their inventory is constantly changing. Only yesterday I asked to see an Olympic Arms AR because I had never examined one in person. The clerk said it was an excellent weapon with a great price. Upon examining it, I noticed several obvious deficiencies but I never said a word and thanked the clerk for his time.

Yeah, but in a gun store, there is at least an expectation that somebody will know something about guns. I have no such expectation in Walmart.

Sorry If there was a little mis understanding. Not quite what I meant. I meant the only decent scanario to dispute something in which case is a judgement call is to help someone possibly getting ripped off. Aside from that disputing things with store personel, whether your right or not is never a good idea. Employees will always speak highly of things they carry otherwise they wouldn't be in business. Rogue employees in most stores guiding people to the light don't always help keep the doors open. Just have to look at it from the other side of the counter really. Even with how brain dead or uninformed many gun shop (not all by anyways but many) are, the whole reason they are there is to sell product, thus allowing business to continue.

Always gotta remember small shops are crumbling to the likes of the internet, mega stores like bass pro, wally world etc, so if it takes selling some bushnoobs or dpms to keep the doors open and at least getting people into firearms, so be it. More money pumping into the gun industry, and more people supporting it is never a bad thing
From TOS ... "buy the shit out of that thing, all the mil spec is just nonsense."

I work at a large chain gun store in OH, and for the most part before I started working there the sporting tactical department thought that bushmaster was gods gift to the AR-15. The majority of the people that work at the store don't really know much about firearms. Most of the employees are in college and just want an easy job. Our store manager in general knows nothing about firearms either.

Why push the cheap Bushmasters and Windhams? Because me, thats why. I worked gun stores for a LONG time before moving to LE, and when I showed up for work, I had one thing on my mind, make money to bring home to the woman. This may come as a big shocker for you tier 0 operators but not every bubba coming through those doors needs a damn Noveske. 99.9999999% of the time That Bushmaster HBAR is going to do what he (and even you) asks of it. And that 800.00 price tag fits most pretty well. Half you guys act like that thing is going to break just taking it out of the box, for their use trust me its fine. If a customer comes in there telling me how awsome he thinks the Taurus Judge is, Im right there with him. "Damn right man that thing is Thors Hammer, they might ban it though, better get 3. Need ammo? Holster?Fill this out, Cash or card? Thats sales gentleman. If I ever had a legit consumer asking me about the better quality products we sell and why Milspec is the desired level of manufacture, "sure, let me show you the Daniel Denfense line of rifles we offer."

Have some humility folks. Coming on here saying you'd be the ****ing beacon of light amoung a bunch of nitwits and you would only sell the best or compliment the best of what you had to offer, no the **** you wouldn't. You'd adjust to the customer you are selling and make money.

Before that is all taken out of context and someone here is undoubtly butthurt, let me just say that means if you came into my store an were being an ass, or trying to impress us with your vast internet education, we'd find a way to drain that wallet. I enjoyed helping new customers and certainly know my playing field. The point is you adapt to the customer, not pretend to be Jesus H. Christ of all things timmy all the time.

Any chance he thought a "300 Blackout" was a type of men's tactical pants?
