Yea that's because 1% clubs are for geriatric citizens who want to try and feel like they're still relevant. It's a dying concept full of aging members with a very low population of new recruits.

Maybe Sons of Anarchy brought their continued attempt to remain relevant to light for the public but the Hells Angels probably got a chubby from the memories this story brought up about their "good ol'days" Of course that chubby required two viagra, cocaine, a semi truck full of strippers and the helmet cam youtube video on repeat, but that doesn't mean they're not "hardcore bikers".

With that said, since when was a back patch and an organized top down structure required for a gang? Didn't the FBI just release information about organic gang structures that are essentially leaderless?

Just the other day there was a post by a member on here about a "Ride of the Century" in St. Louise that contained several videos of bikers doing similar stuff but no one was attacked. The even was planned digitally and designed with the intent of breaking laws.

What happened in NY was a flash mob of sports bikers who got together with the intent to exist outside of the legal structures of their urban home. It was an organized riot no different then the college riots that flashed up all over the country a decade ago. These people want to feel power in a group, be anonymous and **** shit up without consequence.

If I remember correctly that is how the original 1% gangs were formed as well.

Just because these kinds of groups haven't been defined by the FBI as a gang yet does not mean they don't act and operate like one.

As a LEO in a heavily Hells Angel territory I can say for sure the are still relevant. I took my brother in law by one of the club houses when he did a ride along. Just so happened to come by as a meeting was happening. There was a lot of people there.

Not really internet ignorance nope. More like frustration with the MC's in my area and having had to deal with multiple ones on multiple occasions. I realize it's very exaggerated but after 6 years of working inside one of the most highly populated areas of the country, where MC's have a really high presence, there is a very ethnically diverse group of gang members, and we're on the boarder of one of the top 10 most violent cities in the nation, I've found that the MC gangs tend to be made up of older individuals and are very much a slowing breed. They're also a pain in the ass to deal with.

But you're right, my knowledge is very limited beyond the fifteen to twenty interactions I've had with clubs in the North East.

I was just being a dick because I think they're silly, stupid, and made up mainly of people my father's age.

That's what I see too. I was making a joke at their expense because they are suffering recruitment problems and to tell you the truth when I see them acting all big bad and tough next to groups like this one in NYC that attacked this SUV driver, or some of the street gangs in the area it's like two worlds clashing.

Anyway before this spirals into a "you don't know what you're talking about" thread about 1% M.C.s I'm going to say that my smart ass sarcasm was intentional and I was being a dick making a joke.
