    Question Looking for a Semi-Auto MP5

Who makes and sells a Semi-Auto MP5 in 9MM or 40S&W,10MM in a SBR or 16.0" in length??

    HK?

Other than a HK94, I think your only option currently is Coharie (sp?) Arms, formerly Special Weapons.

From what reports I've happened to glance at, the quality of recent Coharie clones seems pretty good.

But if it were me, if I really wanted a MP5-type gun, I'd cough up the bread for a HK.

    Well, nobody.

The closest you can get as an individual is a HK94, and have either a MP5 barrel installed or have the 16" barrel cut down. You can do the same to the clones, some of which already have a 8.85" barrel with a fake suppressor pinned and welded. Once the gun is registered as a SBR, you can remove the fake suppressor. Alternatively, some clones can be purchased as a pistol, with no buttstock, and once registered, a buttstock can be attached.

But there really isn't such a thing as a semi MP5 because a real MP5 is a dealer sample MG, even with a semi only trigger pack installed.

Vector Arms makes HK, AK and Uzi clones. They used to make MP-5 clones, but looking at their new website I'm not seeing any 9mm's.

HK does, but you cannot buy it unless LEA/MIL/SOT.

When I talked to some people who went to SHOT they said these looked very promising. Definitely the best non-HK replica yet.

I like my Special Weapons 5, forgot what the mp5 felt like, smooth/slow recoil compared to the ar variety.
Wonder what it'll feel like shortned with a can.

Here is the website to Professional Arms. They are the makers of the MP5 with convertable calibers. 9,.40, and .45.
