ELCAN: The only things it has going for it are the FOV and the reticle is pretty nice. Eye relief sucks. Very unforgiving.

Not variable power. It's either 1x or 4x. I line to have a variable midrange available to dial down to when taking distance shots from kneeling or standing.

Still comes with an ARMS mount. 'Nuff said.

I would look at either the 1-6x Vortex Razor HD or the Bushnell Elite Tactical 1-6x. Bushnell has upgraded their illumination recently and the reticle is very nice.

Yep, that Vortex Razor HD is a very nice scope at a great price point. If you have not used one you'll be amazed at what the sight picture looks like; FOV is simply huge. The illumination is daylight visible, so all Vortex has to do is offer a mil-scale reticle for holds and windage and the scope will be a world-beater.

And Scott at Liberty Optics is a great guy; if he's able to make a go of it at those prices more power to him...

Thanks for brain storming with me guys.. Variable scopes are a no go for me for this set up. I do have a nice Minox ZA5 on my bolt action rifle and I appreciate good variable zoom optics but for the LMT I want a tough as nails x1 and x4 or x6 optic. Leupold is an option and I will get to shoot one next month. My buddy just picked up the Leupold MK6. Also the scope I get has to be night vision compatible. Of course there are aspects of other Optics that I like more than the SpecterDr but overall... Gen III specterdr's have few complaints, awesome glass, night vision compatible, 2.5 eye relief vs like a 1.5 relief on an Acog TA31, very durable housing, 1-4 quick zoom, lighter than other optics of equal durability/size/mount, and an awesome FOV. I loved the glass & FOV of the TA31 that I tried out but couldn't stand the eye relief and not being night vision friendly. Also dont like the RMR set up. But in all fairness I really need to find a store that carries an ELCAN for me to look through... Just not sure i'll be able to find a local vendor.
Anyways I will look more into the Leupolds and comparable optics some of you suggested.

Suppressor- Yeah I admit the wait for the stamp will annoy me. So it makes me want to spend money where I dont have to wait 8 months to get my item. But from a survival/zombie aspect... How much will a suppressor really help? Running non-cycling subsonic has its limited uses.. and supersonics still produce a crack in the decibel range of a jet engine. Its hard for me to prioritize a suppressor over an optic (even though I have an aimpoint).

I also have zero experience with suppressors so it'd be more difficult for me to choose. If I were able to shoot different suppressors like I'm able to shoot different optics... it'd help a lot with deciding which one to go with. Luckily there are a lot of good resources online about various suppressors.

The Vortex and the Leupold are built like tanks as-well. I wouldn't have any concerns about their durability. The eye relief on the Vortex is nearly twice that of the ELCAN 1-4x and more that twice that of the ELCAN 1-6x.

Do you happen to know what the battery life is on the Vortex Razor HD ii?

As far as hours go, no. But I left mine on for 3 weeks straight on level 6 and it still had plenty of juice left.
