Agreed and at 10 and 20 yards a difference in zero probably won't matter much anyway I just have to know my hold over. Potentially I could be shooting outside the house as well. I'm in south Florida and there are plenty of crazies down here. I remember a couple years back a few outstanding citizens of the "gangsta" persuasion attempted to rob a man's motorcycle when the owner saw it out his window said something, hoodlums pointed a gun the owner had his AR handy and took care of business. The owner killed 2 of them, the 3rd was charged with the murder of the other 2 because it was during the commission of a felony.

Anyway judging by the scene of the event the gunfight took place with the owner and would be robbers at least 25 yards apart (this was in an apartment complex). In today's day and age, I'd like to be prepared for anything including defending myself and family/friends at any distance, you never know what situation you may find yourself in.

Zero for one or the other, then just know the difference in POI for the other round - as stated inside of your house the difference is negligible...

Zero for both, then scratch the difference into your optic. "2 up for TAP" or whatever the case is. Send a few down range just to confirm at the end of the training day.

    I'd zero for the TAP.

Unless you know that your real life engagement distance will be at a range where you know the difference between the two is negligible, I'd zero for the SD ammo.

At the least, if you decide to occasionally switch to a zero for the 193, spend a few rounds of the good stuff to confirm your zero when you switch back. It might be worth it.
The advice above is worth exactly what you paid for it.

I'd guess it probably won't be much different, but every gun could shoot any load differently, so it's worth checking out

This is what I would recommend also.

I would not feel inadequate with the XM193 for HD, but you've already got the TAP, which is better.

Have you had a chance to actually shoot & see what the difference POA/POI is between the two? Lots of folks have given you their $0.02, but you gotta see for yourself to know.

Well considering the max frag range of Tap is 125 ish yards in a 16" barrel. I'd not change your zero from 55 gr FMJ as it wouldn't change the POI that much unless your rifle will not shoot it? IE always check to see how it shoots before you trust your life to it! Right now my SD/HD round is the Ranger 64gr SP which shoots very well in both of my AR's a 1:9" an a 1:7".
