    Eotechs with Two Dot Reticles?

I'm considering setting up a rifle with an Eotech Exps and a magnifier. I figured I'd just go with a single dot model since I'm used to that with my other Eotechs. However, the two dot model has me interested since while I understand it's not much of a holdover, it does give you a point of reference when shooting at further distances.

My only problem is I can't look at one locally, so I am unable to see if I find the two-dot reticle to be too cluttered (as some people have stated). Have people found the two-dot setup to be of any advantage or is the standard one dot reticle preferred even with a magnifier?

I've known a couple people who got the 2 dot version, and both complained afterwards that they wish they had not. They ended up not liking the 2nd dot there

I have both styles and honestly, I don't even notice the bottom dot. I don't use it, for that matter, either but I don't find it more cluttered.

I've got the 557 with the four dots. I wish I'd have gotten the 556 or waited and got one of the EXPS models. The multiple dots are worthless without the magnifier, they just look like a fuzzy line and I can't make them out. Even with a magnifier it is pointless because the magnifier is only 3x. If you are shooting out to 600 yards with an AR15 you probably should have at least a 3-9x scope. No, in my opinion red dots and HWS's don't need BDCs.

I looked at both versions when I bought my current Eotech. Granted I didn't get to actually use both of them before buying, but I didn't like the two dot model at all. I went with the EXPS3-0 and am very happy with it.

Very happy with the EXPS2-0. Didn't feel the 2nd dot was necessary and I'm glad I opted for the single dot.

That is the route I decided to go.

I've looked through the 3 (or was it 4?) dot version, and all my eye could pick up was a single line below the main dot. This went away when using a magnifier (chalk it up to slight astigmatism).

I just don't see a need. The single dot configuration works fine for every use I can think of with a RDS.

This is my experience as well. I bought the two dot version quite by accident and was really angry until I got to use it. That said, I prefer the single dot for its simplicity.
