    Help from RMR/M&P owners.

I am in the process of machining my M&P9 slide to accept an RMR and I would like some assistance from those of you who own one. I would like a measurement from the breech face to the front of the RMR and/or from the top rear of the slide to the back of the RMR. I've seen some variance on its location and I'd like to see what kind of tolerances I should go for.

FWIW, I will be doing BUIS forward of the RMR.

    Thanks!

I own an M&P CORE with RMR and honestly, I prefer my plain Jane M&P although I'll be putting Trijicon HD's on it soon. If you're dead set on doing this I wouldn't recommend BUIS in front of the RMR, it's going to be a pain in the ass to index off of to pick up the red dot. I love red dots on long guns, but not so much on handguns (seemed like a good idea before I bought it though). Just my two cents on the topic.

Thanks for the input. I won't get into the fireball topic of BUIS forward or rear of the optic. I will say I have shot with both and I have no problems transitioning between the dot and irons.

    Thanks!
