The MOE hand guard is too wobbly and does not feel sturdy on the rifle at all (which is why I'm trying to throw a new hand guard on the rifle). Eventually I may throw a DBAL on her but that's way down the road, but I'd prefer to mount the light in front of the FSP which is why I would like a 12" extended rail. I'm open to other options besides quad rails. I won't lie though I am partial to the quad rails for aesthetic reasons.

As I said before I'd also like to have my forward grip a bit farther out because of my long arms.

Have you checked out the Troy Delta or Charlie rails. I have no personal experience with them but they are advertised as being mounted with no disassembly of your carbine required except removing the OEM handguards.

Looks like they added QD sockets and went to a 4 bolt system like on the DDM4 rails. The thing that's nice about the DDM4 & RIS rails is the shallow lower rail IMO.

I run the Lite FSP rails on my SBR's and 16" rifles. No issues at all. For me, they are the shit. The Lite II rails can be ordered from DD directly.

If you are unsure of your ability to put one on, order from DD and have the rail sent to Robb Jensen at Virginia Arms and send him your upper. Robb's reputation is well-deserved and is highly thought of here. He has done lots of work for me and I have always been happy.

Yes, which is why I swapped from a LITE to a RIS II.

Here's the chart (note the M4 rail listed is the old M4 rail with the collar ring, not the new M4 rail that comes on their factory guns:

Looking at the chart it seems I would like the RIS as well besides the 4 ounce difference between that and the lite rail II. I like the lower profile of the RIS but the weight of the Lite rail. hmmm decisions decisions. So im fairly confident that I will go with DD. I dont mind paying a little extra for the quality and i don't mind paying my buddy to install it.
