    Why the extended one?

Why do people hate extended slide catches on 1911s? Do they damage the gun in some way?
    We miss you, AC.

I carry a 1911 every day and I gotta agree with this... this and the DA conversion (mentioned by A_M) are perfect solutions to non-existent problems.

Thank you! I have never seen or heard of much improvement if any from using a FLGR. Only the increased ass pain to disassemble (not that it's that hard to begin with)

Never understood these on a 1911

The issue I have had and hear from others is that it will sometimes be held down by the shooters grip (thumb) and unable to engage on the last round

Also as other have mentioned, the LDA trigger developed by Para

A crime against nature to be sure, after market mods and horrible work done by smiths, etc, are not part of the OP "rules"

    sooner or later.

seems like a common misconception on some forums about bomar-type sights is that their durability issue is with regards to getting banged around on stuff... but my experience has always just been that the pins will creep out from just shooting them.

Full Length Guide Rods and Double action conversion guns.

runner up would be the long slides that have 6"+ barrels.

Never had them break, but never been clear on the value of adjustable sites on a combat/SD/CCW handgun.

At distances I'd practice, or compete (IDPA for example), or take courses, or fight, am I adjusting for windage and elevation? I can see the potential value on a target gun of some sort. Am I missing something there?
