6.25lbs with CompM3, will be 5.84lbs unloaded once my micro gets here.

Anyone know the weight of the Hensoldt magnifiers?

If you're in a position where weight really matters, weighing gear can help prioritize load and show you where you could be saving ounces. I don't generally weigh my gear these days, but I do count advertised ounces. I do occasionally weigh my back-country rifle, as there's not always accurate information to go off, and too many parts to keep track of.

My multi-day winter pack is around 25-30lbs depending on the objective- 0F bag, 4-season tent, stove, food, insulating layers, thin rack of gear, not counting skis (which don't really factor, unless you have to pack them).. You can't pull that off without getting into the habit of counting ounces.

I have no idea, all I know is that working in construction and using a nail gun (8+ lbs) all day long made me unsensitive to handling an AR.

IMHO, if you think your AR is too heavy, you should hit the gym and not take some off the rifle, it's counterproductive.

How is reducing weight counterproductive? Light weight is one of the main justifications for the AR design.

    People actually weigh their stuff?
Nope, thus I have no idea how much any of my rifles of any variety weight beyond what the factory spec's tell me.
