Are these ETM mags? They ride very high (by design) in the magwell. On my 9mm, they were hitting the ejector. It's possible they are riding high enough in your gun to cause issues. I don't expect they'll hit a 45 ejector, but they may be interfering with the slide stop.

I had this issue on my of my 1911, I replaced the slide stop and it fixed my problem. I believe my stock slide stop was out of spec.
Perhaps see you can pull a slide stop from another 1911 and see if it works for you.
