    So, I had the same issue with the Leupold. Not enough eye relief. Which led me to purchasing the Vortex, the 3" extended version. Out of the box impressions:
    Nicely machined.
    Nicely finished.
    Seemed to weigh the same as the IMS.
    Looked like it would be a rock solid mount, with the right eye relief.
    Sent back due to it being made in China, not the biggest deal, for a budget mount, but I knew it would always bother me, in the back of my mind.

    Description on Midway said Made in USA.

    I don't see where bridging the gap with non QD rings or mount is a big deal as long as the two are reasonably well aligned. What scope are you using? GH
