Rest in Peace - Chuck Petrie
Curious. Perhaps the Wilson rep could speak as to why this is.

Greg,
Did you get my emails about the class?
If you have to put a compensator on a 9mm, maybe you should buy panties instead of briefs - Ken Hackathorn via Facebook live
Liking a Glock is a version of Stockholm Syndrome. Nobody likes it but they get use to it in time - Countless Victims
Closing in on 4000 rounds. Will hopefully hit the 5000th during the Hackathorn class.
Shot nothing but dog poo through Ruby this week. On Friday I ran 200 rounds of sweet, sweet Tula crap. That said, it worked fine. Today I shot 50 rounds of reloads that my buddy swapped me for some old PPU 40. Again, smooth as butter. The Tula is very lightly loaded.
Shot a fair number of FAST drills. My I seem to be stuck in the mid 5s lately. Not terrible, not great.
Hilariously, both the TULA and the reloads grouped very well.

If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.
No offense, but I find it difficult to believe anyone who laid down the kind of coin required to purchase a Wilson custom 1911 is able to offer anything remotely close to an objective review. It's understandable. If I spend that much on a 1911 I'm going to do all I can to justify the expense.
I think that is a fair point. I don't even think you have to limit yourself to expensive guns. It seems that people fall all over themselves to justify their purchase of any gun. Basically, you just have to read everything you can, shoot everything you can and come to your own conclusions.
Along these lines, I had a Dodge Challenger SRT-8 a few years back. All white. Man I wanted to love that car. I was going to drive it forever. Total POS. Electrical issues, body panel issues, notchy terrible shifter. Just crap. I spent the first few months trying to fool myself into loving the car, making excuses, etc. After the 8-9ths separate trip back to the dealership I said F this and dumped that turd. So I know exactly what you are talking about.

When you state "anyone" is when you paint with too broad a stroke. What isn't taken into consideration is the individual. To some an unbiased documentary on a specific pistol isn't governed by cost. In addition paying 3k for a firearm is relative to an individual's income.

I agree. If I bought a custom Wilson, and it didn't perform like my current, Pro Smith, or NHC, OR ed Brown 5 inch, I would bad mouth it. I had one Brown that sucked and I trashed it. Verbally and physically. And i have a Brown now that runs like a champ, and still hate the company for....not important for this thread.
I think often, you can try to justify a purchase. But not 4,000 rounds worth. I bet my bottom dollar if it failed every 50 rounds, Greg would trash talk the gun like it has earned it.

Really? $3K ain't a lot for everyone. I have 4 1911s in the $3K range and I run 'em hard and make no excuses for 'em.
My latest custom build on a Colt has been an utter piece of shit through the first 1K rounds, but I fully expect that from a 1911 and I know how to make 'em run most of the time. I've refit/tuned the extractor, replaced the recoil spring, tuned the sear spring and replaced the trigger just to get it to function correctly.
Now that I have it functioning to my standards, it'll get a set of it's own new mags and have to make it through a case of good ammo with nothing but a little lube in a training/match environment. If it chokes, it's back to bench until it performs or it'll get sold.
