I have had a problem Colt, but I have had more problem Glocks (especially 19s, the popularity of which continues to be a puzzle to me since they seem to be the most problematic of the service handguns). I cannot even keep up with the number of Glocks I have owned through the years. Without a doubt, the G19 is the spottiest, but even my G17s have had a fair number of issues. I have owned at least 5. 3 of them ran fine, two of them had enough issues I traded them. One, was so off center that I shipped it back to Glock. They shipped it back after changing out the locking block or something with a still noticeably off center target that said "meets Glocks specs." I posted it on Glock talk and got a call and a brand new gun. It was awesome. I will say I have always had great luck with G26s, oddly.

I have had numerous issues with M&Ps. My .40 M&P is extremely ammo sensitive. Both my .40 and 9mm M&P had weird issues with mag ejection that required me to go inside the magwell grinding off flash. The first 9mm M&P I had shot pizza-box sized groups at 25 yards. For years I wouldn't even get near one because at the first Hackathorn class I took up in Atl some kid, after mocking me for paying twice as much for an H&K .45 broke his striker during the first drill during the class.

I am not saying this because I believe 1911s are more reliable than modern service autos. I am saying that the problems with 1911s are exaggerated and the problems with modern guns are being minimized. And lets be honest, the real reason people are moving to the 9mm is because .45 is too damn expensive. LOL.
If you're shooting a .45ACP and you're serious chances are you need to be reloading for it. I have for many years and have a lot of components. So for me .45ACP is cheap, brass is long paid for so it costs me powder, primer, bullet and a little time to make good ammo. If I didn't have the reloading equipment there is no way I would be able to afford to feed one now.

Why not? That's about what everyone here has tied up in an AR that is virtually useless to a civilian citizen's day to day life.

I don't recall ever being signed up in a cheapest pistol contest either. I only shoot custom built 1911s because I like 'em and they work.

I am polishing mine up for tommorow's Hack n' rain fest tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be back for the second day since my boss lady apparently thinks my soul would be better served by spending Easter with the family.
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

Sorry to hear that Greg I hate that you'll miss half the class. We'll see if we can blow up your gun Saturday afternoon.

If you did not already have a soul, purchasing a Wilson would provide one at no additional charge.

Sorry to hear about the class being cut short for you. You guys have a fun time tomorrow.

Bah. Sunday is usually slack day anyway. Downside is usually Ken tells lots of interesting stories during the downtime.
