Ya I hear you on that!! Sadly after this year it's going to be getting refinished. Not because I want to but I'm getting it tri-topped, ball cuts, and front serrations cut in..... All to make it easier to manipulate and cycle faster for competition and it's already a pita fighting the rust with it now. It'll rust like crazy after that. I'm not huge on keeping my guns clean unless I'm shooting a major. I went so much as 12k before without cleaning. Just kept adding lube and there were no problems whatsoever. I just had the SS nats coming up and had to. I swear there was some kind of monster living inside of it thought when I took it apart and cleaned it. No gun malfunctions through all those rounds though! Had some high primers and a batch of ammo I made up, I had my oal shortened so there were a few times it hungout from slide lock reloads. Been through ALOT of mags and mag springs. Even the factory fiber was tough but HUGE for what im doing hence why I changed it. I shot it w the factory front for about 25-30k and only replaced fiber once due to it breaking. The gun wore real evenly and has a little bit of wiggle in slide to frame fit but still overly tight and smooth. I'm sure the slide glide adds to that. Other than that though everything is gravy. Still have about 65% barrel life surprisingly according to my smith and I do need to replace my slide stop at the end of the year because it had peened away and doesn't lock the gun to the rear anymore. No biggie though. Makes me think that much more when running stages

Put 100 rounds through her on Friday and 100 Today doing comparison testing with my Vp9. Humorously, I was only able to beat the WC by .2 on my best El Pres drills with HKVP9. The WC is a bad mo fo.

Sadly, final update my friends. The Wilson was the victim of (1) my interest in consolidating my gun collection and (2) my desire to scare up funds for my Porsche. I am swapping out the wheels and tires and updating the interior with lighter components. This stuff ain't cheap!
Let me say this, this gun was awesome. Freaking awesome. It will be missed.

Sorry to see it end, Greg. I've really enjoyed this thread.
I am too. I enjoyed running the gun immensely. Nothing is finer than a well-tuned 1911.

The Porsche would be wasted on me. I'd keep the CQB.![]()

Looks good, Greg. I see you're a fan of Ruf wheels.
