Sig factory mags holding slide open after each shot...

So today I went to the range and the slide would lock to the rear after each shot. This was happing to both factory magazines but not the 15rd Promag (which normally missfeeds it worked great today lol)

The magazines are most likely allowing the bullets to touch the lobe of the slide stop and press it upward.

Factory mags choking and Promags running fine....musta been 'opposite day'.

The explanation posed by CFII seems the most likely answer.

I'd go with CFII's theory. Check the slide stop for evidence of the bullet rubbing on the lug, even slightly.

So you have Checkmate mags, Promags and a Sig 1911.

    What could go wrong?

It probably is a long lobe on the slide stop.

Is this only happening with you or with others shooting the gun?

Could be your grip is activating the slide stop during recoil?

    Opposite day indeed!
I'll replace the mags with CMC ones and pick up a wilson slide stop.
I took some pics tonight of the slide stop...

The first 3 pictures show the problem.
